Think of one thing you love and then multiply it by five. That’s how we feel about Stript Wax Bar, a waxing salon (nay, a waxing experience) originally from San Francisco, and now in Walnut Creek, Oakland, Palo Alto, and Los Angeles. If there was ever a reason to move to California, this is the proverbial cherry on top.
Stript is impeccably conceptualized and staffed by the friendliest of ladies. Carefully curated by owner Katherine Schimmel, walk inside and feel like you’ve entered a modern day boudoir. You know, like, feminine with an edge.
If we had to pick just two things that keeps us coming back for more, they would be the numbing spray (hello, light bulb! Why doesn’t everyone offer this before a waxing treatment?) and their “Maintenance Brazilian” – a discounted treatment booked within 4 weeks to keep us on schedule (and perfectly coiffed). Oh, and did we mention the numbing spray?!
And lest you think we focus only on beauty, we’ll leave you with this quote: “Perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add but when there is no longer anything to take away, when a body has been stript (sic)…”. Merci, M. Saint-Exupery, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Stript is perfection.
